چکیده
The influence of composite girders on the modified buckling factor for columns was investigated in both braced and unbraced frames. girders' end conditions were represented as rigid hinged . Furthermore, based proposed stiffness parameter, derived formulation follows same assumptions standard effective length (K-factor). Moreover, suggested equations frames obtained using slope-deflection method. Concerning frame, restrained by girder improves calculation makes a more accurate cost-effective design than steel girder. Eventually, with is only slightly better girder, but it still conventional solution

Performance-based Plastic Design Method for Buckling- Restrained Braced Frames
This paper presents the key design points of buckling-restrained braced frames (BRBFs) by using the performance-based plastic design (PBPD) methodology. This method is based on energy-work balance concept and uses pre-selected target drift and yield mechanism as design criteria. Based on multi-mode pushover and time-history analyses, a simple equation is developed for computing yield drift rati...
متن کاملPost-buckling and First-ply Failure of Thin-walled Frames and Columns Made of Composite Materials
First-ply failure (FPF) of composite thin-walled columns and frames is investigated in the buckled structure. Elastic behavior is assumed during the pre-buckling and buckling states, and along part of the post-buckling equilibrium path. The Tsai-Hill criterion is employed to identify failure of one ply at one specific location. The technique of analysis is based on evaluation of the post-buckli...

Pultruded composite structural members with open or closed thin-walled sections are being extensively used as columns for structural applications l1Jhere buckling is the main consideration in the design. In this paper, global buckling is investigated and critical loads are experimentally determined for various fiber reinforced composite I-beams of long column length. Southwell's method is used ...
